Family: Evening Primrose/Omagraceae
Habitat: Along streams or river bars and on scree slopes in the mountains throughout Alaska.
Blooming Time: July/August (I found these in June)
Description: Stems somewhat sprawling up t 20” (50cm) tall. The 4 sepals are pointed and purplish and the 4 bright pink petals are oval, pointed and all equal size giving it a very symmetrical appearance. Rarely white or light pink.
Could be confused with Wild Sweet Pea from a distance when growing on river banks due to similarities in size, color and growth form and habitat.
